Welcome to the official site of l’Evariste, a mathematics excellence competition organized by the Albert School. Its name refers to the mathematics prodigy Évariste Galois, one of the greatest mathematicians of the 19th century, famous for his formidable intuition and reckless impetuosity.

⚖️ Rules

These rules aim to define the conditions and terms of participation in this competition.

The organizers reserve the right to modify the rules in case of unforeseen circumstances, informing participants of the changes made.

The rules will be reiterated at the beginning of each test.

  • Candidates are required to present valid identification on the day of the competition.
  • The use of any document or electronic material (calculators, phones, tablets, computers, smartwatches, and all electronic communication or storage devices) is strictly prohibited during the tests. Any violation of this rule will result in the immediate disqualification of the candidate and their team.
  • Any cheating behavior or attempt to cheat by a candidate will result in their immediate disqualification and that of their team.
  • When the test end signal sounds and a candidate does not put down their pen and continues writing, the room supervisor reserves the right to disqualify the candidate and their team.
  • Candidates must arrive fifteen minutes before the start of each test. Any candidate arriving late will be refused entry and will disqualify their team.
  • The competition results will be published on the official Evariste website in the days following the competition.
  • Upon the announcement of the results, participating teams will have a specified period of one month to submit any claims regarding the results. Claims must be submitted in writing and must be duly substantiated.

Commitment and Responsibilities:

  • Participation in the competition implies full and unconditional acceptance of the rules, waiver of any recourse regarding the conditions of organization and execution of the game, as well as the simple and unconditional acceptance of the results and prize allocation.
  • Evariste cannot be held responsible for lost mail that may occur in distribution services, nor for any disruptions due to strikes, technical incidents, or other events beyond its control.
  • The winners of the top prizes agree to participate in any advertising or promotional operations related to this game, including the partial or total use of their name and/or image on all media.
  • In accordance with the French Data Protection Act of 06/01/1978, participants have the right to access personal data concerning them. Any request for access, correction, or deletion must be addressed to the organizer.

I am not French, can I participate?

Nationality is not a criterion for participation. You are welcome regardless of your nationality.

I am not studying in France, can I participate?

Participants not studying in France are also welcome. However, you must be studying at a level equivalent to high school in France and be able to come to Albert School on the day of the competition.

I am in tenth grade, can I participate?

Yes, tenth-grade students can participate in this competition.
Keep in mind that the questions are written for an eleventh and twelfth-grade audience.
